Lake Garda East-Coast Loop

This ride is a true classic Lake Garda challenge, starting from Bardolino and riding water-front up to the northern shore of Lake Garda and heading inland toward the legendary climb of Monte Bondone.

The route begins by following the Sarca Valley via Monte Baldo through Arco and Dro, an area known for its vineyards, orchards, and dramatic limestone cliffs shaped by the Sarca River. After passing Sarche, the road continues toward Trento, where the long ascent to Monte Bondone begins.

This historic climb—featured several times in the Giro d’Italia—winds steadily upward through forests and sweeping switchbacks. As elevation increases, the views open across the Adige Valley and the surrounding Alps.

Near the summit plateau around Vason, the scenery becomes fully alpine, with wide meadows and spectacular views toward the Brenta Dolomites.

From here, a long descent leads back through the valley toward Lake Garda, where the route returns to Bardolino with beautiful views of the lake framed by steep mountain walls.

This loop is ideal for riders looking for a rewarding mountain challenge starting directly from Lake Garda, combining one of the region’s most famous climbs with scenic valley roads and unforgettable alpine panoramas. 🚴‍♂️🏔️🌊
